Take a look at the step-by-step process of doing hair and make-up for a synchronized swimming competition. Three Dolphins - Erin, Hannah, and Paige take you through the process.
Step 1: Wake up early and meet in hotel room
Step 2: Hair up in a synchro bun (start with a tight ponytail and then either twist the hair up into a bun or braid the ponytail and then twist up, using plenty of pins as you go)
Step 3: Gelatin and make-up!
Three Dolphins swimmers took part in the Routine Training Meet, held this past weekend in Surrey. It was the first routine competition ever for both our Level 1 soloists - Paige Pomeroy and Erin Epp. The girls, along with Level 4 soloist Hannah Ruste, represented the club extremely well. They all had amazing swims and had a lot of fun. The girls are now working towards Interior Regionals, which will be hosted by the Dolphins on April 20th.
Competitive swimmers had their second training meet of the season this past weekend in Kamloops. Our level 1 athletes took the top two spots in their figure event, with Erin Epp placing 1st and Paige Pomeroy placing 2nd. Level 4 athlete Hannah Ruste placed 1st in her figures event as well as the technical skills event.
Great work, Dolphins!
The Dolphins kickstarted their competitive season this past weekend with a training meet in Surrey. The first competition of the season coincides with the annual Synchro BC Fall Conference, which gives opportunities for coaches, club executive members, and athletes to learn from special guest presents. Our athletes had a great weekend, with Erin Epp and Paige Pomeroy placing 3rd and 16th respectively in the Level 1 figures event, while Hannah Ruse placed 6th in Level 4 figures.

Congratulations to two of our swimmers, Hannah Ruste and Zoe Roberts, who were both named to Zone 2 (Thompson-Okanagan) 2012 BC Summer Games team, following trials in Vernon in December. Head Coach Mina Rigby-Thompson will act as the Zone 5 (Squamish-Vancouver) Head Coach. They will represent their zones at this summer's BC Summer Games competition in Surrey, BC, July 19-22.
Our club participated in the first training meet (figures only) of the season in Vancouver on October 14. It was a great start to the competition season and gave our competitive swimmers valuable experience swimming in front of a judging panel.
