The Under 12 Novice team had a great year, taking part in four competitions: two regional meets, one fun meet at our home pool, and then finishing the year with the BC Provincial Competition in Nanaimo. The 12U Novice team benefited from the assistance of two coaches this year Carly and Alyssa.
The 13-15 Duet team had a successful year. Both athletes will be competing at the BC Summer Games this summer, taking part in the team routine category with swimmers from our region as well as performing their own Bollywood inspired routine. The Duet team took part in four competitions this year - two regional meets, the Interior Fun Meet (at our home pool) and finished the season with a strong performance at the BC Provincial Competition in Nanaimo. The 13-15 year old team was coached by Carly.

Step 1: Wake up early and meet in hotel room
Step 2: Hair up in a synchro bun (start with a tight ponytail and then either twist the hair up into a bun or braid the ponytail and then twist up, using plenty of pins as you go)
Step 3: Gelatin and make-up!
Three Dolphins swimmers took part in the Routine Training Meet, held this past weekend in Surrey. It was the first routine competition ever for both our Level 1 soloists - Paige Pomeroy and Erin Epp. The girls, along with Level 4 soloist Hannah Ruste, represented the club extremely well. They all had amazing swims and had a lot of fun. The girls are now working towards Interior Regionals, which will be hosted by the Dolphins on April 20th.
Competitive swimmers had their second training meet of the season this past weekend in Kamloops. Our level 1 athletes took the top two spots in their figure event, with Erin Epp placing 1st and Paige Pomeroy placing 2nd. Level 4 athlete Hannah Ruste placed 1st in her figures event as well as the technical skills event.

The Dolphins kickstarted their competitive season this past weekend with a training meet in Surrey. The first competition of the season coincides with the annual Synchro BC Fall Conference, which gives opportunities for coaches, club executive members, and athletes to learn from special guest presents. Our athletes had a great weekend, with Erin Epp and Paige Pomeroy placing 3rd and 16th respectively in the Level 1 figures event, while Hannah Ruse placed 6th in Level 4 figures.
Two Dolphins athletes - Zoe Roberts and Hannah Ruste - brought home a silver medal for the Okanagan team in the Level 2/3 team competition at the 2012 BC Summer Games in Surrey. In the figures event, Ruste placed 9th and Roberts placed 24th.
Head Coach Mina Rigby-Thompson coached the Vancouver team to a silver medal in the Level 4/5 team event and a gold medal in the Level 4/5 solo event, along with third place finishes in the Level 4/5 duet and Level 2/3 solo.
The Dolphins had a great showing at the 2012 Provincial Championships this past weekend in Kamloops. Our swimmers competed well, had fun, and did a great job representing our club!
Zoe Roberts placed twenty-first in Level 2, 13&Over figures. In her solo event she placed fifth in routine and seventh overall. Hannah Ruste placed sixth in Level 2 13&Over figures. She placed third in routine and second overall in the solo event. She was also awarded for being one of the Top 8 Level 2 swimmers in BC for her outstanding performance in stamina and speed.
Five Dolphins competed at the 2012 Interior Regionals in Kamloops on April 28. It was a great competition for all of our athletes with excellent results in Star 1&2 figures, Level 2 figures, and Level 2 solo. Dolphins athlete Hannah Ruste won the Level 2 solo competition, making it the third year in a row she has won her solo competition at Regionals.
