My name is Carly Helgason, and I have been the Head Coach for the past 4 years, coaching our competitive groups. I have coached many years throughout the interior of BC, as well as for the BC Summer Games for the past 3 games. Before coaching I swam for 9 years competitively, the last 5 of those competing nationally finishing off my career with the Calgary Aquabelles and University of Calgary Dinos team. When I’m not at the pool coaching I work as a Kinesiologist for the Kelowna/Vernon area and teaching bootcamp classes. In my past time I love getting outdoors, hanging out with my dog, and travelling.
Alyssa joined the Kelowna Dolphins as a coach in January 2016. She swam with the Nelson Reflections Synchronized Swim Club for 8 years, finishing off her synchro career at the national level. Alyssa completed her Bachelor of Human Kinetics Degree at UBCO and has worked as an Exercise Physiologist for the past several years. Currently, she is working towards becoming a Registered Holistic Nutritionist and finishing up her Yoga Instructor Certification. Getting involved with synchronized swimming once more has always been something Alyssa has wanted to do. With years of experience teaching swimming lessons, fitness classes, and personal training, she brings a variety of knowledge to coaching swimmers of all ages and abilities.
