My name is Carly Helgason, and I have been a coach for the past 5 years. In this time I have coached throughout the interior of BC, as well as for the BC Summer Games the past 2 summers. Before coaching I swam for 9 years competitively, the last 5 of those competing nationally. I was fortunate enough to finish off my career by swimming with the Calgary Aquabelles, as well as the Calgary Dinos University team. It was through swimming with the University that I discovered my passion of sport science. I transferred to UBC Okanagan last year to complete my bachelors degree in Human Kinetics, where I have 3 more semesters left! I still have a deep love for the sport, which keeps me coaching, as well as in the pool swimming for fun.

Currently, she is working towards becoming a Registered Holistic Nutritionist and finishing up her Yoga Instructor Certification. Getting involved with synchronized swimming once more has always been something Alyssa has wanted to do. With years of experience teaching swimming lessons, fitness classes, and personal training, she brings a variety of knowledge to coaching swimmers of all ages and abilities.
